I am an Alumnus of both Cal and UCLA with a BA in English, and an MA in English form Cal State Hayward (East Bay), as well as a current Clear Single-Subject Teaching Credential. I was educated entirely in the public schools and am a graduate of Monte Vista High School in Danville.
I have lived in Area 4 of the MDUSD for 26 years.
Although I have not taught in over 25 years, I was a full-time High School Teacher in Dublin as well as a substitute teacher for the MDUSD back in 2000. I did my student teaching at Martin Luther king Junior High School in Berkeley and College Park High School in the MDUSD.
For the past 25 years I have been a Proposal Manager for Architecture, Engineering and Construction firms.
I am fiscally conservative and so have never been bankrupt and am not trending toward bankruptcy now (unlike the school district).
I have more than 15 years of experience as a coach of youth sports (soccer, basketball, and baseball).
I was a Cub Scout leader and Boy Scout volunteer for many years.
I have been the director of over 100 skits/short plays and 8 full-length plays, most of which were performed by and for children and youth.
I am the author of three short stories published in nationally-distributed magazines, and I have written numerous articles published in newspapers.
More as a matter of trivia, I am not just a lifelong resident of Contra Costa County, but a 5th generation resident of Contra Costa County. My great-great grandfather, Colonel Albert Stone, was co-founder of the town of Alamo in 1852.
I’d also like to think I’m relatively humble, but you’d never guess that from the above. They say you have to sell yourself, folks.
